This was a major turning point in his professional journey as he had the wonderful opportunity to work along with the pioneers of Ayurveda. This 5 year period was followed by a tenure of about 2 years as SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW in the same institute. Being a harworker and an ardent learner, he was able to imbibe the best of clinical knowledge during his time at the NRIP.

With the immense experience he gained, Dr. Shehin then expanded the horizon of his clinical excellence to Cochin, the then expanding hub of medical tourism, beginning as the MEDICAL DIRECTOR at Azda Ayurveda Hospital.After a brief hiatus wherein he completed his MS Ayu from ASWINI AYURVEDA MEDICAL COLLEGE HOSPITAL , he finally made his dream of a long time see fruition. A healthcare organization primarily based on Ayurveda in its authentic form but integrating it with other systems of medicine, both modern and ancient – and AYURSIHA was born. As the founder and MD , Dr. Shehin was able to serve an elite clientiele consisting mainly of international citizens all over the world. His main areas of expertise are stroke and neurological rehabilitation, developmental disorders, sports medicine and lifestyle disorders and he was able to generate excellent results.

Being a multilingual person who speaks fluent Arabic helped him develop better rapport with his patients. Apart from this, he had the opportunity to be a part of various expos and medical conferences and paper presentations in various Middle East countries. He used these opportunities to spread awareness about the noble science of Ayurveda. Moreover, these visits paved way for his patients to have a follow up visit with him thereby ensuring continuity of the treatment. Being an ardent learner, he also added a number of degrees and diplomas to his academic mileu- PG Diploma in Hospital administration, PG Diploma in Clinical Research, Certificate in advanced course in Smriti Meditation to name a few. He completed a Certified program in Ayurvedic management of Autism from KASE, Kottakkal and holds a Fellowship in Neurological rehabilitation from Medvarsity, Apollo Hospitals. He recently completed PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology.

A Philanthropist at heart, he has been a part of many Charitable associations since his student days. He was at the forefront of organising “Doctor on demand Help desk “ an online consultation and treatment facility during the Covid 19 pandemic. He also conducts medical camps and awareness campaigns in and around Cochin and had the opportunity to collaborate with many social organizations. A strong believer, he thinks that the service to mankind is the service to God and that every action, every gesture that helps relieve the pain of a fellow human is divine.
